Story Title: Sweet Tea
By: Steve A Catlett
Many years ago Bob and I stopped by my mothers on a hot summer day. Bob was driving one of my wreckers at the time and said he was thirsty, so I suggested he try some of my moms sweet tea. Bob was hooked with the first glass, I think he drank a gallon of her tea that day. My mother could not believe Bob liked it so well, thus bob became a regular at stopping by moms for her sweet tea. Recently Bob called and asked for some more of moms sweet tea, he said he was having withdraw and needed some. My mother was happy to make it for him. Bob was my best friend and I already miss him, I hope to someday see him and maybe we can have one more glass of sweet tea together. To my friend may god be with you on your journey.

We got to know Bob and Steph through jr. drag racing and I remember Bob always offering a helping hand or a spare car part to other racing families in need. Bob,
You are the love of my life, death can’t change that, but it has changed my life by taking you. It overwhelms me with sadness and grief at times, then I remember my promises to you, and I collect myself again. I will, with the help of our two beautiful daughters, our son in law that we wouldn’t love more or be more proud of if he were our own and the sweetest grandson in the world, I will finish what you started here for us. Your friends and mine have already taken an active part in helping us get through this together, and I am so thankful as I know you would be for our close family.
We always joked and laughed about the notion that you were born after me because your purpose in life was to make me happy, and you did for almost 37 years, but the agreement was that I was to leave first. So, when my time here is done, I will join you becaues I know where you are and I will spend the rest of eternity pestering you for leaving me first.
    All My Love, Forever
    Lisa

    Uncle Bob
    I miss you so much!
Glad you are no longer suffering. So happy that you are with your sweet loving mother. You truly were a wonderful caring person. I’m so glad you were able to finish the house. Just wish you could have stayed around a little longer to enjoy it.
    Love always
